‘I absolutely love working collaboratively with schools and early years settings to help individuals and teams to develop their capacity to provide education support to adoptive, fostering and special guardian families.

I am passionate about utilising a trauma-informed approach focusing on the impact of attachment difficulties, loss and developmental and complex trauma.

I am a Creative Arts Psychotherapist specialising in Dramatherapy. I have additional training in DDP and I am currently training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have extensive experience working in special educational needs and mainstream schools and alternative educational provisions. I have a special focus on school exclusion and adoption issues which are derived from my own personal experiences. Here at Beacon House I work with children, adolescents and their families.

I deliver bespoke consultancy and training to education teams supporting them to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence in supporting adopted, fostered and special guardianship children in education. I also invite teams to explore using creativity and play (where appropriate) focusing on what it means to be trauma-informed, through theory to practice.

I also work with parents, carers and guardians and empower them to work in partnership with their child/ren’s school.

I am passionate about the training that I offer and it is always a privilege to offer other practitioners and families a space to reflect, and explore in order to empower them to learn and grow’.
