Laura is the Creative Design Assistant for Beacon House. She focuses on translating complex psychological and trauma-informed theory into tools and visuals that feel practical, clear, and compassionate for the people using them.
Whilst also working as an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) for the NHS, she understands that therapeutic concepts can sometimes feel overwhelming or overly clinical. Using her experience, she aims to break information down into manageable, relatable steps using accessible language, visual frameworks, and interactive resources.
Her goal is to help individuals, families, and professionals understand not just the theory behind trauma and emotional wellbeing, but how it applies to real-life experiences and recovery.
Tone, pacing, language, colour, and structure are all considered to make trauma-informed materials feel supportive and non-judgemental. She aims to create resources that give people choice, clarity, and a sense of empowerment, while acknowledging the emotional sensitivity of the topics being explored.
Ultimately, she want’s her work to feel accessible, human, and emotionally safe, so that people can engage with difficult ideas in a way that feels manageable and meaningful.
