Keren is a UKCP accredited Psychotherapist with many years’ experience working with clients of all ages, experiences and walks of life.

Trained at the Karuna Institute and Middlesex University, she holds an MA in Core Process/Mindfulness based Psychotherapy, a contemplative practice drawing on well-established Western psychotherapeutic approaches and mindfulness principles.

The methodology brings together current research in neuroscience, psychodynamic theory, trauma, attachment and Buddhist philosophy of body and mind.

Keren has extensive experience helping adults with a range of challenges including emotional dysregulation, childhood trauma, relational difficulties and PTSD. She can offer a mind/body blended approach which combines relational, trauma-informed and Mindfulness based Psychotherapy.

Through her personal and professional experiences, she has come to believe in the transformative power of working with both mind and body, especially when it comes to healing trauma.  She has seen how engaging with the body can help bypass the psychological defences, strategies and coping mechanisms we sometimes construct to shield ourselves from our innermost pains and struggles. This approach allows us to access and address the root of our trauma more effectively.

Much of Keren’s training and practice has highlighted the importance of attachment and childhood ruptures and the skills she shares with clients can help them self-regulate and develop greater awareness of their feelings and needs.  She also helps clients learn how to be with difficult emotions and track where they are to help avoid descending into depression or anxiety.

Prior to joining Beacon House, Keren worked in private practice and in the mindfulness clinic of a psychiatric hospital where she provided individual therapy for outpatients. She also led and facilitated mindfulness groups, offering support to individuals who were integrating back into the community.

Before training as a Psychotherapist Keren worked as a coach, trainer and group facilitator in the International Development and Charity sectors, for clients including the United Nations (UN), the RNLI, Macmillan and The Metropolitan Police. As a group facilitator overseas, she worked with trauma on a community level and saw first-hand how community events such as violent conflicts, sexual abuse, extreme poverty and inequality can influence an individual’s psyche – experiences she draws on when appropriate in her therapeutic work.

Keren is accredited by the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP) Membership no’ 2011173113.
