‘Tell me what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life’ -Mary Oliver.

Hi, my name is Dini and I am an Individual and Family Systemic Psychotherapist.

I bring over 22 years of experience working across therapeutic services in both the NHS and Social Care.  Before training as a Family Therapist, I was a dual qualified mental health nurse and social worker.  Earlier in my career,  I also trained in the creative arts, exploring how creativity could support young people, teachers, schools and youth services.  This included developing and bringing exploratory theatre in educational and community settings. I continue to value creativity as a powerful way of helping people express themselves, connect with others and discover new ways to understand their experiences.

These different professional experiences have shaped the way I work therapeutically, and I wear several different and interesting hats!  They allow me to bring together a range of perspectives when supporting individuals and families.  I work alongside individuals and families experiencing a wide range of experiences, including anxiety, trauma, emotional distress, relational difficulties, family complexity, significant life changes and times where relationships, and the wider world have felt difficult to navigate.

As a Family Therapist and human being, I am interested in understanding each person within the context of their relationships, history and the world around them. I work with families and individuals to explore patterns of connection and communication, creating space for different perspectives and helping each person’s voice to be heard. I am mindful that people experience and make sense of the world in different ways of the different ways, including the strengths and challenges that can come neurodevelopmental and other differences.

My passion is working alongside individuals and families as they navigate their own unique journeys through difficult times. I aim to offer a space where people can explore their experiences with gentle curiosity, compassion and, where appropriate, humour and playfulness. I am interested in the ways our relationships, histories and experiences shape us, and how understanding these can become pathways towards greater understanding and confidence.

I enjoy working as part of multidisciplinary team where courage, curiosity and collaboration are valued.  I appreciate being able to support families as they navigate complexity, helping to hold onto hope, notice strengths and support them in finding ways forward that feel right for them.

I never take this work for granted. It is a privilege to support individuals and families make sense of experiences that may feel overwhelming at a pace that feels right for them.

When I am not working, I am an avid student of flamenco, a meditator and a practitioner of qi gong.

I enjoy spending time with close friends and family, and treasure seeking out special places in nature, particularly areas that are being re-wilded for posterity.
