Specialist Occupational Therapist

Ness Southgate is an Occupational Therapist with 26 years of post‑qualifying experience, specialising in work with children, young people, families, and the wider professional networks that support them.

Over the course of her career, she has developed deep expertise in sensory integration and sensory attachment, using these approaches to understand and support the underlying needs that shape behaviour, regulation, and relationships.

In recent years, through both direct clinical practice and ongoing professional development, Ness has also begun to build a growing specialism in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

This emerging focus reflects her commitment to understanding the complex neurodevelopmental profiles of the children and young people she works with, and to ensuring that assessment and intervention are grounded in the latest research and best practice.
