Beacon House is a team of professional, compassionate and highly experienced chartered psychologists, psychotherapists and occupational therapists. We provide a wide range of assessments and effective therapies for children and young people, families and adults who are experiencing mental health difficulties, emotional and behavioural problems and relationship conflict. As a service we have a special interest in repairing the effects of trauma and attachment disruption.
Our specialist occupational therapists are additionally able to provide assessment and treatment for children being funded by the Adoption Support Fund and who are experiencing a range of developmental problems, sensory and emotional dysregulation and co-ordination problems.
We welcome referrals from a range of sources – including individuals, parent/carers, GPs, CCGs, Local Authorities and schools. While we are an independent therapeutic team, over half of all our referrals are funded by third party organisations such as Children’s Services, Clinical Commissioning Groups, government grants, schools and private healthcare insurance. We also offer a comprehensive service for children and young adults who are adopted or cared for by a special guardian, funded by the Adoption Support Fund.
We strive to be an inclusive, respectful and client-led service. Everyone is welcome here. We warmly accept referrals for the young to the elderly; and from all walks of life. We have therapists in the team with a lot of experience of working with individuals and families who bring diverse life experiences, perspectives and priorities; and the uniqueness in all of us will be celebrated. Being a service who is committed to diversity means that we try to create an environment where our clients can bring their whole self to their relationship with us.
