Hello, I’m Natalie. I am a clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience working alongside children, young adults, and families across the NHS, charity, criminal justice, and elite sport settings.

I know that finding the words to start therapy can feel a bit daunting—honestly, even writing this biography felt that way! But my experience has taught me that all you can do is start exactly where you are and take each step of the journey as it comes. I strive to offer a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, nurtured, and safe to explore how your life, and the world around you, impact your well-being.

I draw on a range of therapeutic models grounded in Social Construction, Narrative, and Community Psychology ideas. I don’t believe in situating problems within a person; instead, I look at the whole picture—including the social, economic, and environmental factors that shape our lives. I will try to support us to think in metaphors, using creativity to explore the struggles you might be facing, and curious exploration to find the resources within you to support healing. The impact of trauma can take many forms, and I take a flexible approach to your unique needs, working to ‘check in’ about your experience of our sessions together and ensuring we can collaborate along the way.

Working with children and young people has always given me energy and I am so often inspired by their creativity of thought and ability to hold hope in the context of challenge. I have worked in many complex systems and environments and hope to bring these experiences and skills into the way we approach our work together; understanding that problems can feel insurmountable at times, but with understanding, trust and time, things can change and improve.

We are all different and unique, which is part of what makes working with people so wonderful. Our experiences of the world are shaped by many aspects of our social, racial and cultural identity. I work to acknowledge my own positionality and want to make space for conversations about difference in our work. I appreciate that trauma from experiences of discrimination and marginalization for those from global majority communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent populations and on the basis of ability, gender and class can contribute to distress and space for these conversations is important. I have always had a strong interest in, and passion for, co-production, peer support and ‘doing with, not to’. This is something I will continue to bring to my work at Beacon House.

When I am not working, I enjoy watching and playing sports. Me and my family have loved sport since I was a child, and it is something that has supported my own mental health, given me lifelong friendships, and also helped me learn more about myself. I am a keen runner, love exploring the trails, and swimming in the sea whenever I can. To recover, I love nothing better than coffee and cake with friends or relaxing in the sunshine with a good book!

It is a true privilege to be part of the team at Beacon House. I am constantly humbled by the courage people show in sharing their stories, and I find myself learning just as much from these conversations as I hope those I work with do too. I look forward to meeting you and working together, toward the goals that matter most to you.
