Ness is a creative, caring therapist who prides herself on developing positive therapeutic relationships with the children and families she works with. Qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in the year 2000, Ness has a wealth of experience, particularly working with children and young people, including those with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, sensory motor processing difficulties and trauma experienced in early years.

Ness is an advanced sensory integration practitioner and specialises in working with children and young adults with sensory processing difficulties. As an advanced sensory integration therapist as well as a Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI) level 1 certified therapist, Ness has a deeper understanding of the complexity of trauma, sensory processing and its impact on functioning.

She worked for many years as the lead Occupational Therapist at a special school and college. She has also supported many children in mainstream settings, providing programmes, consultation and staff training. For the past five years Ness has also worked as a Specialist Paediatric OT in a sensory integration clinic.

Ness works with each child/young person and their carers/families to enable understanding to facilitate reaching their full potential. Ness is passionate about providing therapy that is client centred, uniquely tailored to each individual and assisting each young person to develop their sense of self, and to find what tools and resources enable them to function practically and emotionally.

Alongside her work at Beacon House Ness has her own private practice and is a consultant OT for a children’s home.

Ness is registered with the Health Care Professions Council membership number OT32868 and she is a Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
