Emma is a warm, creative and engaging psychotherapist who has been working with adults, children, families, (individuals- take out this word) and groups for over 20 years. She enjoys working in an integrative way; a way that she strongly believes allows her to be flexible in her approach and best meet the needs of her clients. Emma is as happy to play as to talk. She obtained her Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2003 and is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). And a member of EMDR UK.

Emma has a vast experience of working with children and adults who have experienced trauma and developmental trauma. As a psychotherapist she has worked in and consulted in therapeutic residential children’s homes, within domestic abuse recovery projects, as a school’s counsellor in primary and senior settings,  as part local authority fostering, adoption and post order teams as well as in private practice.

Emma has experience in working with bereavement and traumatic death, she worked with Winston’s Wish for 5 years, a children’s bereavement support service. Emma has experience designing and delivering bereavement training to schools and other professionals. Emma offers supervision to professionals.

As an adoptive parent (of two children- delete the two children bit can just leave adoptive parent) herself, Emma has experience of the everyday challenges that families may face. Emma is passionate about working to provide support that benefits the whole family.

Emma has training in Attachment Focused Family Therapy and has completed DDP Levels 1 and 2 training.

Emma is a qualified EMDR practitioner having completed the EMDR Europe Standard Training and Level 1 (& 2 as of next week) Child & Adolescent EMDR Training. Emma has completed Integrated EMDR and IFS Model Level 1.

Having worked alongside trauma for many years, Emma believes that self-care is extremely important. She enjoys making the most of living in Sussex between the hills and the sea. Spending time with friends and family and being out running with her dogs are a few favourites
