Alix is an integrative practitioner, specialising in working with children and young people, and tailoring how she works depending on what the child or young person needs. She believes in the importance of the therapeutic relationship, building a safe space and rapport. Alix is particularly interested in developmental trauma and attachment; the impact of sexual abuse and working with young people around boundaries and consent, as well as working with grief, bereavement and those who have been bereaved by suicide. She is also particularly passionate about eco-therapy and how therapy can be taken ‘outside’ and be made accessible to those who might struggle with being in a therapy room and more ‘traditional’ aspects of therapy.

Alongside her work at Beacon House, Alix currently works as part of The Therapeutic Consultants in North London with children, young people, families and adults. She also works as an independent psychotherapist in primary and secondary schools in Hertfordshire and North London providing one to one therapy, therapeutic groups, consultancy and support for teachers and parents.

Previously, Alix worked within an attachment-focused CAMHS team, as a School Project Manager for Place2Be and in a Children’s Residential Home. She set up a long-term therapy service for the charity RASASC for young people aged 13 – 16 years old who have been raped or sexually abused. Alix has worked directly with Social Care teams undertaking child and family assessments for court, prepared court reports and been an Expert Witness for the family court.

Alix is a huge advocate for child and adolescent therapy and the provision of best practice to those we are privileged to work with – Alix is a tutor and trainer at various adult therapy and child therapy training organisations in London and is a qualified Clinical Supervisor to counsellors and therapists working with children and young people. Alix’s personal and professional values are embodied in her clinical practice – tenacity, humility, integrity, creativity, playfulness, curiosity, robustness, compassion and holding onto hope.
