Psychological assessment of families in pre-proceedings, with the aims of developing a functional and realistic formulation about capacity to change, level of risk and recommendations for treatment.
Psychological assessment of families in care proceedings, with the aims of developing a comprehensive evaluation of risk, parenting capacity, psychological functioning of all family members, capacity to change and recommendations for therapy, care and contact arrangements.
Psychological assessment and intervention with foster carers and Looked After children, with the aims of assessing the suitability of placements, the support needs of foster carers, the specific placement needs of Looked After Children and recommendations for intervention and ongoing placement arrangements.
Psychological assessment and intervention with adoptive parents and adopted children, with the aims of assessing the suitability of adoptive placements relevant to the child’s unique needs; the support needs of the parents and recommendations for ongoing intervention to sustain a stable placement.
Psychological assessment and intervention for birth parents following permanent removal of their children, with the aims of supporting the parent, through evidence based treatment, to address the underlying emotional problems which contributed to their unsafe parenting. This work is in anticipation of future pregnancies and aims to reduce the likelihood of the not enough time to create change once new pregnancies come to the attention of the Local Authority.
Psychological assessment and intervention for Looked after Young People who are expectant or new parents themselves. We are able to offer pre-birth assessments to determine the level and nature of risk to the baby, capacity to change and recommendations for early intervention.
